Cheryl Devall

Biography
After more than four decades as a journalist, Cheryl is managing a committed and talented team at KRVS Radio Acadie. On 88.7 FM. this 100,000-watt music-driven National Public Radio affiliate serves Southwest Louisiana. Its emphasis on homegrown Zydeco and Cajun music and the rich, grounded, French-inflected culture of my parents' ancestral state attracts an increasingly global streaming audience. KRVS also offers regional public affairs programs, jazz, classical, rock, roots, and folk.
Before moving to Lafayette in mid-2022, Cheyl worked in various capacities for the Chicago Tribune, National Public Radio and the Opelousas Daily World, large public stations and nationally-distributed shows, nonfiction audio projects and training platforms. Journalists she has mentored have become Pulitzer Prize finalists, recipients of prestigious fellowships and winners of the George Polk Award among other honors.
